Are you a new patient?

Patients of Nevada Cancer Institute are referred by their community physicians and oncologists for treatment, sub-specialty care and/or for enrollment in a clinical trial. For patients who want a second opinion, the Intake Department will assist in facilitating self referrals. Patient navigators/educators are available to help you to determine your most appropriate path no matter where you will be treated. Call us directly at our new patient phone line (702) 822-5111.

Is this your first visit?

A first visit to a cancer care specialist can be frightening. Before you go, ask a patient navigator/educator the following questions to help you prepare for your first consultation.

Questions to ask about your first visit:

1. How long will I have to wait for my first visit?
2. What is going to happen at this visit?
3. Can I bring more than one person with me to the appointment?
4. Will my insurance pay for this visit?
5. What types of treatment do you offer?
6. What types of staff will I be meeting?
7. What clinical trials do you have available?
8. Who should I call if I have questions after I get home?
