LAS VEGAS, Dec. 12, 2008 –The Faith & Inspiration 2009 Surviving Mothers of Breast Cancer Calendar, featuring breast cancer survivors and their children, is now available for purchase.

Many of the women featured in this visually stunning calendar are Nevada Cancer Institute patients. The images capture the pure essence of survival and beauty of the wonderful women and their families who took part!

Stacy Martello, a breast cancer survivor and president of FightPink.org, was inspired to do a calendar showcasing women and their families because she wanted to show that having cancer doesn’t define who you are – or become.

"We are all survivors, not just of cancer but of life, and I wanted to showcase that even though we get a curve ball thrown at us in this life, and we may stumble, we will survive," Martello said.

Survivor Colleen Seifman, a Nevada Cancer Institute patient, took part in the calendar with her two children and her mother Elaine Gallagher, a breast cancer survivor of 20 years along with her aunt, June Pralle, a bladder and colon cancer survivor of 20 years.

"I am thankful for each and every day I can share my experience," Seifman said.

Martello said she wanted to make the calendar project personal, relaxed and fun for the women involved and their families.

"I wanted to showcase survivors and their children, illustrating the legacy that they leave behind when they leave this earth, however they leave this earth and that even though their life may end, their legacy will live on," Martello said.

A special thank you goes to Edison Graff Photography(photographer) and Steven Sunga, (make-up artist), who both donated their time and professionalism to make this calendar possible.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Nevada Cancer Institute, as well as the Susan G. Komen Foundation. To purchase your copy of this first annual calendar, please go to FightPink.org and follow the links to place your order via Lulu’s secure online shopping cart system.
