Yagang Ray Wang is the Chief Medical Physicist of the Radiation Oncology Department. He has been practicing medical physics-therapeutic radiologic physics in southern Nevada since the early 1990s. His interests include IMRT, IGRT, prostate seed implant, HDR brachytherapy, quality assurance and other cutting-edge technologies in radiation therapy.
He earned his B.S. in physics from Fudan University in Shanghai, China and his M.S. from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He started his internship in Medical Physics at UCI Medical Center while pursuing further graduate studies in 1992 (Department of Radiological Sciences, College of Medicine at University of California, Irvine). He is certified by the American Board of Medical Physics and the American Board of Radiology.
Yagang is an active member of community, national and international professional organizations including American Association of Physicists in Medicine, American College of Radiology, North American Chinese Medical Physicist Association, Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board and American College of Medical Physics. He has participated in National Cancer Institute and Community Clinical Oncology Program-sponsored research protocols.
