Anita A. Pomerantz, M.D.Anita A. Pomerantz was appointed as the Clinical Research Director at the Nevada Cancer Institute, where she will continue her oncology practice. She completed her internship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI and residency at Georgetown University Medical Center. Her interests led to specialized study in GammaKnife Radiosurgery at the University of California, San Francisco. She has been the recipient of several academic scholarships, has authored several publications and a book chapter on the use of radiation in the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas.

Dr. Pomerantz is American Board of Radiology Board Certified in Radiation Oncology and specializes in the treatment of breast cancer, brain tumors, pediatric malignancies and the special techniques of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery. She is an active member of multiple national and international societies, including the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO), International RadioSurgery Association (IRSA), Society of NeuroOncology (SNO), and the American Medical Association (AMA). She has been an active member of the Southern Nevada Cancer Research Foundation (SNCRF) through which she participates in National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP) sponsored research protocols.

Dr. Pomerantz was honored by being named one of the “Top 40 Under 40” in 2006 by In Business Las Vegas and one of the “top doctors” in Las Vegas in the June 2007 issue of Las Vegas Life magazine, which annually compiles a list of the best physicians practicing locally, based on reader surveys.
